How you will create an impact
In this challenging and dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to provide paralegal services to the AIG North America General Insurance business. This position reports directly to the Associate General Counsel of AIG Canada.
You will be supporting a team of lawyers based in Canada and the US on a wide range of matters, including:
Assisting with contract review and maintenance, including non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, and any other general agreements.
Tracking federal/provincial legislation impacting AIG's business and related tasks, and special projects support.
Reviewing marketing materials for legal and regulatory compliance.
Drafting and reviewing corporate governance documents, including board resolutions, charters, and policies.
Maintaining and updating corporate records, including board and committee minutes, director and officer records and other governance-related documents.
Preparing and filing corporate documents including annual corporate returns and extra-provincial registrations.
What you'll need to succeed
Designation as Corporate or Commercial Paralegal.
2+ years of relevant industry and/or law firm experience.
Self-starter initiative with the ability to meet and exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task and remain flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Proven problem-solving skills that demonstrate creativity and commitment to AIG core values of taking ownership, setting the standard, winning together, being an ally, and doing what's right.
Strong communication, analytical, organizational, research and writing skills.
Excellent project management skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including a high-level of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

For positions based in Ontario, the base salary range is $64,000 - $80,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
