Role Overview:

The Engineering Project Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple engineering teams working toward defined technical milestones. This role operates in close partnership with the Project Technical Lead.

The Project Manager focuses on milestone execution, team coordination, progress tracking, building and justifying bill of material and risk management at the operational level. The Project Technical Lead oversees overall phase integrity, technical direction, and end-to-end delivery timelines.

This role requires both technical literacy and operational discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate multiple cross-functional engineering teams
  • Break down phases into actionable milestones and track execution
  • Monitor progress against timelines, deliverables, and technical dependencies
  • Identify risks, bottlenecks, and resource gaps early
  • Maintain structured communication with the Project Technical Lead
  • Facilitate alignment between engineering teams and stakeholders
  • Maintain project documentation, task tracking systems, and reporting dashboards
  • Ensure accountability without micromanaging

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, or related field required)
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering or technical projects
  • Comfortable managing multiple teams simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of engineering workflows, testing phases, failure modes, MVP constraints and iterative design processes and experienced enough to improve existing structure.
  • Experience tracking technical progress using structured tools (e.g., ClickUp, OpenProject)
  • Ability to communicate clearly with engineers and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable initiating and creating monthly presenation updating cross functional teams in UL

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3–7+ years of engineering project management experience
  • Experience in hardware development, prototyping, or product design cycles
  • Familiarity with regulatory or quality assurance environments
  • Able to think in systems
  • PMP or Agile certification (preferred but not required)
  • Canada
