We're expanding our team and looking for a Pest Control Technician who wants more than a short-term role — someone interested in growing with a community-focused business that invests in its people and takes pride in providing an exceptional customer experience.

Pest control or trade experience is preferred but is not required. Proper pest management is a teachable skill, and we are open to candidates with no prior experience. What You'll Be Doing (Customer-Focused Service)

  • Deliver high-quality residential pest control services
  • Inspect homes, identify pest issues, and use critical thinking to solve problems
  • Complete regularly scheduled maintenance services for long-term customers
  • Apply treatments safely and professionally
  • Clearly explain findings, recommendations, and educate customers
  • Build trust and long-term relationships through great service and a friendly attitude
  • Manage your route and represent Pest Shield professionally

Compensation & Perks

  • Competitive hourly wage of $22–$35+ per hour, based on experience, performance, and growth

Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (full, unrestricted) with a clean driving record (must pass a Motor Vehicle Record check)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check (criminal record check and reference verification)
  • Physically able to perform the demands of the job, including lifting up to 40 lbs, outdoor work in various weather conditions, and walking/standing for extended periods
  • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a BC Pesticide Applicator Certificate (Structural category) — company provides training, materials and covers exam fees if not already held
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada (proof required)

Expectations & Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, courteous customer service and building lasting relationships with customers
  • Clearly communicating to customers your findings, recommending prevention strategies, and educating them in a friendly professional manner.
  • Inspect residential properties (interior and exterior) to identify pest activity
  • Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to accurately diagnose pest issues and determine effective treatment solutions.
  • Apply approved pest control treatments in accordance with BC regulations, label instructions, and company protocols
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed, products used, and customer interactions using a mobile app
  • Adhere to all safety standards, including wearing provided PPE, handling products responsibly, reporting incidents, and participating in ongoing safety trainin
  • Follow daily and weekly service routes efficiently, arriving on time and completing scheduled jobs
  • Drive and maintain the company vehicle responsibly (fuel card provided)
  • Commit to continuous improvement through ongoing training, certifications, and advancement opportunities (e.g., senior technician or supervisor roles)
  • Represent Pest Shield professionally at all times (uniform provided, positive attitude, reliability)
  • Achieve performance goals related to route productivity, customer satisfaction, and team targets (eligible for bonuses and incentives)
