I hired someone before who didn't do a polished job. So, I'm looking for a detailed copy edit and light formatting polish on my manuscript to prepare it for final publication. It's 140pages roughly. The writing is already developmentally complete, so I'm not looking for content changes or voice rewrites. My goal is technical precision, consistency, and clean readability.
Here's exactly what I'd like addressed:
1. Full punctuation review
Please review the entire manuscript for missing or misplaced punctuation including periods, commas, question marks, and conjunction usage. I want punctuation to be technically correct while preserving my voice and cadence.
2. Reflection questions
Please ensure all reflection questions end with proper question marks and are formatted consistently throughout the book.
3. Comma smoothing
Lightly adjust commas in longer sentences where needed to improve clarity and reading rhythm without making the tone feel overly formal.
4. Sentence mechanics
Correct any run-ons, fragments that read as accidental (not stylistic), or minor grammatical inconsistencies while preserving intentional stylistic fragments used for emphasis.
5. Consistency check
Ensure consistency across:
• punctuation in bullet lists
• capitalization
• spacing
• conjunction usage
• paragraph structure
6. Section heading formatting
I would like all section titles and sub-section headings within chapters to be bolded (not just capitalized) so readers can clearly see when a new section begins. Please apply this consistently throughout the manuscript.
7. Paragraph indentation
Ensure paragraph indentation and spacing are consistent throughout the document according to standard nonfiction book formatting.
8. Preserve author voice
This is very important — please do not rewrite for tone or change the voice. The goal is polish, not stylistic overhaul.

I want the manuscript to feel professionally edited with clean punctuation, smooth readability, and clear visual hierarchy while maintaining a modern nonfiction style.
