Supervising Social Worker

Contract Type: 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

Salary: Up to £38,000 prorated

Contract Term: Part Time

Hours: 24 hours, 3 days per week (9am - 5pm)

We are on the lookout for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join us on a fixed contract. You will play a vital role in:

• Recruiting, training, and supervising Foster Parents.
• Promoting the welfare of children placed with us across the West Midlands.
• Delivering high standards of service in line with fostering legislation and practice.

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A Social Care England recognised qualification in Social Work or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a supervising social worker or working with foster parents.
• A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation in children's services.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.
• The ability to plan and prioritize effectively.

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will:

• Provide direct support to foster parents, ensuring a manageable caseload for effective supervision.
• Conduct regular supervision sessions, monitoring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to ensure their voices are heard in safeguarding and child protection matters.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Calm and composed under pressure, especially in emotionally challenging situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and databases.
• In possession of a full driving license and access to your own vehicle.
• Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by us).
