About Selwyn Hall SchoolLocated in the beautiful Foxton, South West of Cambridge, Selwyn Hall School is a new SEN school dedicated to providing specialist education for 7-18 year olds facing social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Our pupils may have various diagnoses, including ASD, ADHD, FASD, anxiety, and other learning needs.
Our small class sizes of 4-6 children ensure that every pupil receives the individual attention they need to thrive. Set within expansive private grounds, our school offers a therapeutic environment that promotes health and wellbeing, featuring outdoor learning experiences like forest school, a multi-use sports pitch, sensory trails, and play equipment. Inside, our fully refurbished building includes a variety of classrooms and activity rooms for science, computing, music, drama, and Art/DT.
As part of the Polaris Community , we have been transforming the lives of young people for over 30 years. With twelve SEN schools across the UK, we collaborate to provide tailored, diverse, and appropriate education in a safe and supportive environment. All our provisions are rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.
About the RoleAs a teacher at Selwyn Hall School, you will be responsible for delivering an engaging curriculum tailored to the needs of your students. Your role will include:
- Planning, preparing, and presenting lessons that cater to a diverse ability range.
- Motivating pupils through enthusiastic and imaginative presentations.
- Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to ensure high educational standards.
- Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, providing regular feedback.
- Utilizing a variety of teaching strategies and resources to enhance engagement and learning.
- Creating and maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Upholding discipline in line with our Behaviour Policy.
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status.
- Have successful Primary School teaching experience.
- Possess a good knowledge of the National Curriculum.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet pupils' needs.

The successful candidate will need to complete an enhanced DBS Check, which will be covered by Polaris.
