About Ormston SchoolLocated in the vibrant area of Headingley, Ormston School opened its doors in September 2024. Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a KS3/KS4 SEND Teacher, you will teach small, bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering well-structured lessons that align with the school's curriculum and schemes of work.
- Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on the learning needs and progress of your pupils.
- Adapting your teaching methods to cater to the diverse strengths and needs of your students.
- Setting high standards that inspire and motivate your pupils.
- Demonstrating secure subject knowledge and participating in preparations for external tests.
- Teaching across the KS3/KS4 Curriculum and adapting learning for students with SEND.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A relevant degree
- Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE
- Experience teaching KS4
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and adapt teaching to meet their needs
- Understanding of child protection and safeguarding practices
- Good ICT skills, especially in using technology to enhance learning

Please note that the successful candidate will need to complete an enhanced DBS Check, which will be covered by Polaris Community.
