I am building a YouTube channel focused on real police bodycam footage from incidents across the United States. The channel presents real events in a documentary-style format, explaining what happened during police encounters, pursuits, arrests, and critical incidents.
The goal is not simple reposting of footage. Each video must be heavily transformed into original content through professional editing and storytelling. The editor will play a key role in making videos engaging, compliant with YouTube policies, and protected from copyright or reuse issues.
Main Responsibilities:
Edit police bodycam footage into engaging, story-driven YouTube videos
Add cinematic effects, zooms, highlights, transitions, and visual emphasis
Create professional subtitles and on-screen text explanations
Integrate sound effects, background audio, and pacing improvements
Sync narration/voiceover with visuals
Insert supporting visuals (maps, overlays, graphics, or reenactment elements when needed)
Ensure videos are sufficiently transformed to meet YouTube fair-use and monetization standards
Deliver polished, high-quality final videos ready for upload
Style Expectations:
Documentary / true-crime storytelling style
Strong viewer retention editing
Clean pacing and professional YouTube standards
Ability to make raw footage more dramatic and informative without misleading the audience
Ideal Candidate:
Experienced with YouTube long-form content editing
Familiar with bodycam, true crime, or documentary formats
Skilled in subtitles, sound design, and visual storytelling
Understands YouTube copyright and reuse policies
Able to suggest creative improvements, not just follow instructions
Project Scope:
Ongoing collaboration
Multiple videos per month
Long-term partnership preferred
I am looking for an editor who can consistently transform raw footage into original, high-quality content that stands out and avoids copyright or reuse violations.
I'll pay $20 for each video and then you gonna get raise after every 10 videos.
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months.
Mandatory skills: Video Editing, Adobe Premiere Pro, Video Post-Editing, Adobe After Effects, Video Production, CapCut
