Position Summary
The Program Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of SBBN's five flagship business development programs. This role ensures high-quality program implementation, meaningful community engagement, and measurable outcomes that advance economic empowerment for Black entrepreneurs and businesses.
This is a full-time position funded for a five-year period and offered on an annual renewable contract basis, with a competitive salary.

Key Responsibilities
1. Program Planning & Implementation
Develop and manage annual work plans for all programs.
Coordinate the delivery of the Black Business Expo, mentorship and networking programs, Black Excellence Awards, and Entrepreneurship Pitch Competition.
Establish timelines, milestones, and performance targets for each program.
Ensure programs align with SBBN's strategic plan and funder requirements.
2. Event & Program Delivery
Lead planning and execution of major events and program activities.
Coordinate venues, vendors, speakers, judges, and facilitators.
Ensure a high-quality and inclusive participant experience.
Supervise volunteers, contractors, and program support staff.
3. Stakeholder & Partner Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, funders, mentors, and community partners.
Serve as the primary contact for program partners and participants.
Represent SBBN at community and business development events.
4. Participant Recruitment & Support
Lead outreach and recruitment of entrepreneurs and business owners.
Manage application, intake, and selection processes for programs and awards.
Match mentors with mentees and oversee mentorship relationships.
Provide guidance, referrals, and ongoing support to participants.
5. Budget & Financial Oversight
Prepare and manage program budgets.
Monitor expenditures and ensure responsible use of funds.
Support sponsorship development and grant compliance reporting.
6. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Collect and analyze program data and performance indicators.
Prepare internal reports and funder reports on program outcomes.
Recommend improvements based on evaluation findings.
Maintain accurate program documentation and records.
7. Communications & Promotion
Work with the Communications team to promote programs and events.
Contribute content for newsletters, social media, and reports.
Ensure consistent branding and messaging across programs.
8. Governance, Equity & Compliance
Report regularly to the Executive Director and/or Board.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and funder requirements.
Uphold SBBN's mission, values, and commitment to equity and inclusion.
Qualifications & Experience
Post-secondary education in Business, Project Management, Community Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 3–5 years' experience in program management, event coordination, or nonprofit leadership.
Experience working with entrepreneurs, small businesses, or equity-deserving communities is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or project management tools.
Being Bilingual will be an added advantage
Working Conditions
Flexible hours including evenings and weekends during major events.
Hybrid or in-person work environment (as determined by SBBN).
Contract or full-time position (depending on funding).

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Saskatoon, SK
