Title: Solution Architect, Investment Technology
Reports to: Senior Director, Architecture & Engineering
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid – approximately two days per week in office)

The Role
We are seeking a Solution Architect, Investment Technology with deep experience in financial services and investment platforms, along with a strong background in hands-on architecture and engineering.
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Architecture & Engineering, this role partners closely with Finance and Investment teams to collaboratively shape, model, and deliver technology solutions from intake through implementation.
As a technology leader, you will be hands-on, highly motivated, and committed to continuous learning. You will bring experience operating within medium-to-large, complex enterprise technology environments and apply modern architectural practices to enable scalable, secure, and business-aligned solutions.

Key Accountabilities
The Solution Architect will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Defining and leading strategic technology initiatives supporting Financial Services and Investment teams
Designing and integrating cloud-centric architectures across SaaS and PaaS platforms
Partnering with Investment stakeholders to align strategic objectives with practical, fit-for-purpose technology solutions
Ensuring solution architectures delivered by projects adhere to sound IT practices, architectural principles, and enterprise standards
Designing and leading implementation of enterprise solutions for Investment teams
Enabling business insights and analytics through robust and scalable cloud platforms
Providing innovative, secure, and right-sized cloud-based solutions
Conducting solution reviews to assess, integrate, and implement vendor technologies addressing functional and non-functional requirements
Performing periodic security controls and compliance reviews of vendors and applications (e.g., SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, CAIQ)
Leading solution delivery teams and vendors by providing architectural direction, governance, and advisory support to minimize complexity and enable effective business outcomes
Defining and managing technology guidelines and architectural practices to accelerate decision-making and maintain quality standards
Researching industry trends and evaluating applicability to support enterprise architectural strategy
Communicating technical decisions and solution designs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in enterprise software architecture design and implementation
Minimum 5 years of experience designing and implementing enterprise solutions for Financial Services or Investment organizations
Experience leading architectural discussions and evaluating multiple solution alternatives while considering business and operational impacts
Experience with workflow, automation, CRM, portfolio management, risk management, accounting, and investment platforms such as Bloomberg, eFront, Charles River, Maximizer, Axioma, SS&C, or similar systems
Proven technical leadership across internal teams and managed service providers
Strong ability to evaluate emerging technologies, trends, standards, and products that enable business objectives
Expert knowledge across architecture domains including web applications, data platforms, and analytics
Strong experience driving initiatives from strategy through architecture, design, and implementation
Deep understanding of software development lifecycle practices, CI/CD pipelines, release management, automated testing, source control, and environment configuration
Experience with relational database technologies such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL
Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C#, Java, or C++
