As the Fund Development Coordinator, you will be responsible for grant writing, grant administration, and implementing fundraising strategies that support Parks Foundation projects-led and community-led, equity-seeking initiatives. This role is a key contributor to achieving the organization's annual fund development goals and plays a central role in stewarding funder relationships, managing donor data, and supporting community fundraising partners.

As our Fund Development Coordinator, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Fund Development and Grant Management
Develop project-specific fundraising campaign plans.
Prepare solicitations and cases for support for priority projects.
Steward existing funder relationships and cultivate new funding opportunities.
Lead full-cycle grant writing and administration, including:
Meeting with funders to cultivate and steward relationships.
Researching and developing the funding opportunities pipeline, including identifying individual, government, corporate, foundation, and other funding sources.
Tracking funding opportunity deadlines and managing the full cycle application processes, including gathering required information from stakeholders and documenting timelines.
Writing compelling grants to secure funding for Parks Foundation programs and projects, including coordinating solicitations and managing documentation.
Tracking and managing grant reporting timelines, gathering required information and ensuring that all reporting timelines and recognition requirements are met.
Donor Data and Reporting
Maintaining accurate donor records within the database, ensuring contact information, communications preferences, and key information is captured.
Track and update interactions with donors.
Provide fundraising and grant writing progress reports, as requested by leadership.
Provide final reporting to funders.
Equity-Seeking Project Support
Collaborate with the Programs Manager and Development and External Relations Manager to:
Identify equity-seeking community groups requiring grant writing support for their project fundraising.
Determine the level of support required to ensure the success of the project (ex. full circle support, including leading solicitations, and stewardship, or guidance/review of major solicitations, etc.).
Develop project-specific fundraising plans and solicitation strategies, identifying funders with aligned interests.
Collaborate with community group contacts to capture project-specific information and support solicitations as required, per level of fundraising support.
Ensure all reporting commitments are met with funders as required per project, per level of fundraising support.
Track equity-seeking support provided to community groups and support preparation of annual organizational equity report.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work with the Development & External Relations Manager to align fundraising strategies with organizational priorities.
Collaborate with the Programs team to support equity-seeking community projects.
Coordinate with Marketing & Communications to support donor recognition and storytelling.
Support Finance with grant reporting timelines and documentation.
Organizational Stewardship & Ethics
Must adhere to fundraising ethics and best practices (ex: AFP's Code of Ethical Standards and Donor Bill of Rights).
Uphold Parks Foundation Calgary's values of community, collaboration, integrity, excellence, and inclusivity.
Ensure all program practices meet ethical, legal, and organizational standards.
Act as an ambassador for Parks Foundation Calgary in all community interactions.
Maintain a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
What you bring to the role:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, nonprofit management, leadership, community development, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in fund development or external relations, or related experience in marketing, communications or public relations.
Strong communication, negotiation, and community engagement skills.
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools; comfort with data analysis and reporting.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Experience with fundraising databases (e.g., eTapestry, Raiser's Edge) is an asset.
Alignment with the mission and values of the Parks Foundation.
A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for visiting park sites.
Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for community events.
