We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The Accountant will be responsible for managing month-end close procedures, reconciling accounts, overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable, and handling eCommerce order reconciliation. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and experience with various financial systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End Close:
Perform and oversee month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
Prepare and review financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information and address any discrepancies.
Reconciliation:
Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
Perform bank reconciliations and review electronic payment records.
Perform intercompany general ledger account reconciliations.
Accounts Receivable Management:
Monitor and manage accounts receivable, including processing invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
Prepare accounts receivable reports and perform aging analyses.
Assess and analyze the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
Monitor customer credit profiles and make recommendations for credit adjustments as needed.
Accounts Payable:
Manage accounts payable processes, including processing vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate records.
Reconcile accounts payable statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Review and process expense reports.
eCommerce Order Reconciliation:
Reconcile eCommerce transactions and orders with financial records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Address any discrepancies or issues related to eCommerce order processing.
Additional Duties:
Assist with financial audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
Support the Corporate Controller and Accounting Supervisor with special projects and financial analysis as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Enrollment in CPA program is an asset.
2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas).
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and within a team.
Clear, professional communication skills.
