Role Purpose
This role keeps environmental projects moving.
You own coordination and execution. From field readiness to treatment implementation, from sampling to reporting, from RFP oversight to lab processing.
You ensure projects are organized, compliant, and delivered properly.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining field work, lab management, project coordination, and proposal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Coordination
Build and manage projects in Asana
Schedule field teams and confirm site readiness
Track milestones, deadlines, and deliverables
Ensure coordination sign-off before field work begins
2. Field Implementation
Execute approved lagoon, pond, and remediation programs
Operate boats and field equipment
Install and maintain aeration systems and related equipment
Apply biological treatments and pond dyes as directed
3. Sampling & Lab Processing
Collect water, sludge, and sediment samples per SOP
Maintain labeling, storage, and full chain-of-custody documentation
Serve as primary in-house lab processor
Conduct routine water quality analyses
Perform algae and aquatic weed identification
Maintain lab QA/QC procedures including controls and instrument calibration
Record, organize, and archive results accurately
4. Reporting & Documentation
Complete detailed field logs
Draft clear, concise site reports
Upload photos and data into project folders
Maintain organized version control
Prepare seasonal and project-based lab summaries
5. RFP & Tender Oversight
Monitor RFQ/RFP/tender opportunities
Apply Go/No-Go matrix before proposal work begins
Coordinate opportunity selection with Program & Delivery / Control Tower
Review solicitation documents and track addenda
Confirm submission requirements and deadlines
Assemble compliant proposal submissions per SOP
Confirm submissions and track status
Maintain RFP records and lessons learned documentation
6. Client & Stakeholder Coordination (Non-Technical)
Provide scheduling and status updates using approved language
Coordinate site access and meeting logistics
Escalate technical questions to appropriate leadership
7. Safety & Field Leadership
Participate in the safety team
Enforce PPE and Safe Work Procedures
Supervise field crews
Ensure job site compliance and professionalism
8. Lab Operations & Program Development
Manage lab inventory and supplies
Schedule equipment maintenance and calibration
Validate and document testing methods
Refine SOPs and improve sample workflows
Update project templates and intake systems
Document lessons learned to improve operational efficiency
Who This Role Is For

Qualifications
Experience with Field Work and Wetlands studies
Solid knowledge of Environmental Science and Environmental Impact Assessments
Background in Environmental Consulting, including offering tailored solutions to ecological challenges
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently in outdoor fieldwork settings
Proficiency in report writing and data analysis tools is an asset
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, or a related field
Previous experience with water quality management projects is highly desirable
Boat operators license
Drone knowledge
