Bayshore is currently seeking a passionate and caring Occupational Therapist to join our exceptional care team in the community.
 

This is an Independent Contract position allowing the freedom and flexibility of "working for yourself" with the support of a dedicated HealthCare Team and Canada's Leading provider of HealthCare Services

  • Time and Location
    We offer a flexible "make your own" schedule in your community of West Hamilton and surrounding areas
    Length of visits may fluctuate, and are "in-person" allowing you to build a holistic and meaningful therapeutic relationship with your client and their care team in the comfort of their own home
    Current area of need:  - West Hamilton, Ancaster, Linden, Mount hope, Puslinch, Campbellville, Rockton, Sheffield and surrounding areas
    What you will do: 

  • Assess clients, evaluate/revise treatment programs, including goals and discharge plans. 

  • Maintain clinical records according to standards set by College of Occupational Therapists. 

  • Document assessment results, goals, treatment, client progress and discharge plans. 

  • Collaborate with other members of the care team as needed. 

  • Communicate pertinent information and recommendations to clients/care providers and provide education regarding treatment strategies as needed. 

  • Observe the performance of those assisting in the Occupational Therapy program and provides guidance as necessary. 

  • Travel in own vehicle extensively within the Greater Hamilton & Burlington Region in all weather conditions.

  • Complete all tasks and responsibilities according to Bayshore's written Occupational Therapy requirements.

Education

  • Master's Degree or recognized equivalent in Occupational Therapy.

  • Current registration in good standing with provincial College of Occupational Therapists.

Experience

  • At least two (2) years providing Occupational Therapy services. Experience with in-home assessments and treatments; knowledge of auto insurance and the legal system, particularly medical/legal report writing is an asset.
