What You’ll Be DoingAs a Nuclear Engineering Manager , you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the complex delivery of the Test & Commissioning program. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and supervising all aspects of the Test & Commissioning program within your section.
- Planning, managing, and reviewing activities to ensure products are safe, compliant, and meet quality standards.
- Ensuring all commissioning activities align with the Operational Framework and adhere to Test & Commissioning policies.
- Participating in the Reactor Test Group and preparing necessary documentation for review and evaluation.
- Acting as the Nuclear Authorisation & Test Evaluation Committee Chairman when required.
- Assessing and developing team members to maximize their contributions and meet contract specifications.
- Optimizing performance and resource use within the Test & Commissioning team.
- Reviewing processes to reduce waste and enhance efficiency, establishing a best-in-class capability.
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Ability to hold Duly Authorised Persons appointment for nuclear hold-points.
- Demonstrable experience in Nuclear/Reactor Systems and/or Propulsion Systems Testing & Commissioning (submarine experience preferred).
- Proven capability to manage the Commissioning Team to meet test and commissioning plans.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on clear direction and team management.
- Experience in managing delivery to plan and schedule in a similar environment.
- Deep understanding of Nuclear Site Authorisation/Conditions and/or COMAH.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex engineering processes effectively.
- Ability to influence and communicate across all levels of the organization.
- Contextual understanding of technical issues across various engineering and commissioning disciplines.
- Typically an Incorporated Engineer working towards Chartership, with relevant institute membership.
- ILM Level 2/3 or CMI Level 3/5.
- MBA/MSc/Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

In this role, you will oversee all aspects of the Test and Commissioning team’s complex operations. You will manage individual boat contracts and interface with both internal and external stakeholders. This position requires an experienced leader with exceptional interpersonal skills.
