Your New Role...

As part of our Contribution Engineering team, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and installing cutting-edge contribution technology across the EMEA region. Your work will be essential for both everyday operations and major live sporting events, helping to deliver TNT Sports & Eurosport’s expanding portfolio of sports rights.

In this hybrid role, you’ll collaborate closely with production and sports technology teams, influencing technology choices and workflow designs for high-profile events like the Grand Slam and the Olympics. You’ll be based in Chiswick Park, London, with the flexibility to work up to three days a week in the office and travel to major events as needed.

Your Role Accountabilities…
  • Design and implement contribution compression systems for TNT Sports/Eurosport across EMEA.
  • Collaborate with Sports Technology, Production, and Operations teams to deliver innovative projects and services.
  • Champion new contribution technologies and their benefits throughout the organization.
  • Manage third-party suppliers, ensuring clear requirements, adherence to SLAs, and risk mitigation.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies to enhance our broadcast capabilities.
  • Provide expert technical support, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
Qualifications & Experience...
  • Degree-level education or relevant experience in a broadcast environment.
  • Familiarity with current compression standards.
  • Understanding of broadcast video signal chains and audio workflows (PCM, Dolby D/E).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to advance projects independently.
  • Skilled in managing multiple workflows and prioritizing responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information clearly.
  • Willingness to travel for major events and adapt to the fast-paced nature of sports broadcasting.
Desirable Skills...
  • Knowledge of JPEG 2000/XS, H264/HEVC, and NDI.
  • Familiarity with SMPTE 2022-7, 2110, NMOS, and SDN.
  • Understanding of UHD, HDR, and Dolby Atmos formats.
  • Experience in remote production and deploying systems in AWS and GCP.
  • Experience with LTE contribution and internet contribution (SRT/RIST/ZIXI).
  • Background in MCR operations and engineering.
Hybrid Working

This role offers a hybrid work model, combining remote and in-office work, in line with our company policy and your Line Manager's agreement. Please note that WBD reserves the right to adjust this working arrangement as necessary for business needs.
