We are looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Columbus, Ohio. This role is vital for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of incoming goods into our warehouse. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for accepting deliveries, verifying shipment contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and accurately logging all incoming inventory. You will play a key part in maintaining inventory integrity and supporting the smooth flow of materials within our supply chain. Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential. You will work with warehouse management systems to record received goods and troubleshoot any discrepancies. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE, is required. This position offers a stable work environment for individuals who are dependable and thorough. The ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting, is necessary. Experience in a warehouse or logistics setting is highly preferred. We are committed to providing a safe and productive workplace. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify incoming merchandise against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for any damage or defects and report findings.
- Accurately enter received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label incoming inventory for proper storage.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Operate pallet jacks and other equipment as needed for material handling.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and utilize required PPE.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal departments.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
- Perform occasional lifting of items up to 30-40 pounds.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform tasks that may require occasional lifting.
