We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Atlanta, Georgia. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate intake of all incoming goods, ensuring that our warehouse operations run smoothly. Your primary duties will include unloading trucks, verifying shipment contents against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and accurately documenting all received items into our inventory management system. This position is crucial to maintaining accurate stock levels and supporting the overall efficiency of our supply chain. You will work closely with vendors, drivers, and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to incoming shipments. Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are paramount. A commitment to safety protocols and proper handling procedures is expected at all times. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks and trailers.
- Verify quantities and item descriptions against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage or defects.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label received inventory for proper storage.
- Communicate any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to efficient logistics and material handling.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role is preferred. Ability to perform manual tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 pounds. Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles is beneficial. Prior experience with material handling equipment is a plus. Must be reliable and punctual.
