Join our thriving logistics hub in San Diego, California, as a Material Handler! This role is fundamental to the efficient movement of goods throughout our warehouse. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and dispatching materials and products. Key duties include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, organizing inventory, and ensuring that all movements are conducted safely and accurately. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, physically fit, and possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols. Your dedication to maintaining an organized and efficient workspace is crucial for our overall success. We emphasize a culture of safety, requiring all team members to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to all safety guidelines. This position is integral to our supply chain and demands a high level of responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, receiving and dispatching materials as needed.
- Organize and store inventory in designated locations, ensuring proper rotation.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment issues.
- Prepare materials for shipment, ensuring correct labeling and packaging.
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding material handling and safety.
- Must be comfortable with significant Lifting and moving of materials, up to 70 pounds.
- Understand the flow and importance of materials within the logistics process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to stand, walk, and operate machinery for extended periods.
- Demonstrated ability in safely Lifting and moving heavy objects.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- A commitment to efficient and safe logistics operations.
