We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Durham, North Carolina. In this vital role, you will be responsible for overseeing all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining efficient operations within the receiving department. Your duties will include unloading deliveries, verifying merchandise against documentation, inspecting for damage, and processing received goods into our inventory system. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload merchandise from delivery vehicles.
- Accurately check incoming goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all received items for damage or defects and report any issues.
- Enter receiving data into the inventory management system.
- Stage received products for internal distribution or put-away.
- Operate pallet jacks and other relevant equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role is advantageous.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with inventory systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
- Must adhere to all safety regulations and proper PPE usage.
This role involves consistent physical activity, including lifting and standing, and requires a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Proper use of PPE is mandatory.
