We are hiring a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurate, complete, and processed efficiently. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining the integrity of our outgoing goods. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of shipping procedures within a busy warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare shipping orders accurately and efficiently.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation for various carriers.
- Verify package contents against orders to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with trucking companies and other logistics partners for pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain organized records of all outgoing shipments.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing packages.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly shipping area.
- Ensure all shipments meet company and carrier requirements, contributing to the overall efficiency of our logistics network.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring moderate Lifting.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to Safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of shipping and logistics processes.
