We are looking to hire an experienced Swim Instructor to help children and adults of all ages develop proper swimming techniques and skills. The Swim Instructor’s responsibilities include evaluating each student’s performance during swim sessions and providing feedback, completing attendance, progress, and accident reports, and ensuring that all swimming aids and equipment are in good working order. You should also be able to assist students with special needs to socialize with other students.
To be successful as a Swim Instructor, you should demonstrate patience and enthusiasm and be able to motivate students to accomplish their swimming goals. Ultimately, an exceptional Swim Instructor should be able to communicate effectively with students and ensure that all water safety rules are adhered to.
*Swim Instructor Responsibilities:*
· Teaching swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to students with varying swimming abilities.
· Assisting more experienced swimmers to enhance their swimming abilities.
· Assessing the progress of students and adjusting teaching programs accordingly.
· Monitoring students to prevent accidents and injuries.
· Implementing ground rules for each swim session.
· Planning swimming lessons that take into account students’ abilities and progressive development.
· Identifying incorrect swimming techniques and correcting students accordingly.
*Swim Instructor Requirements:*
· High school diploma or GED.
· Proven experience working as a Swim Instructor or Lifeguard.
· CPR, First Aid, and Swim for Life and Lifesaving
· Sound knowledge of proper swimming techniques and water safety rules.
· Strong swimming abilities.
· Excellent conflict resolution skills.
· Effective communication skills.
· Passionate and enthusiastic
Lifeguard Job Description
We are looking to recruit an observant Lifeguard to ensure the safety of visitors to our aquatic facility. The Lifeguard will explain safety rules to patrons, warn them about unsafe situations, and enforce policies on showers and proper attire. You will play an instrumental role in maintaining orderliness by inspecting swimming pool areas, locker rooms and restrooms. You will maintain pool equipment, and monitor and record pool temperatures.
To ensure success you need to assess situations swiftly, and make judicious decisions regarding the safety of swimmers. Top candidates are excellent communicators, swift and safety-minded.
Lifeguard Responsibilities:
· Overseeing activities at aquatic facility.
· Assisting with swimming lessons.
· Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations and policies to ensure safety of patrons.
· Monitoring designated areas to recognize signs of danger.
· Warning swimmers regarding unsafe situations.
· Maintaining order in swimming areas.
· Responding to emergencies and rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning.
· Performing first aid procedures.
· Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of all areas.
· Maintaining records and reports.
Lifeguard Requirements:
· 16 years of age or older.
· Completion of lifeguard training.
· 1+ months related experience.
· First Aid and CPR certification.
· AED certification preferred.
· Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Proficient in interacting with people of various ages from diverse backgrounds.
· Available to work shifts.
· Physically fit, strong, agile and dexterous.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
