POSITION SUMMARY:
The Benefits Analyst supports the administration, financial management, and compliance of U.S. and Canadian employee benefit programs. Reporting to the Benefits Managers, this role is responsible for benefit payment processing, reconciliation, vendor coordination, and benefits reporting to ensure accurate costs, administration, and alignment between enrollments, payroll deductions, and vendor billing.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Process and reconcile monthly U.S. and Canadian benefit payments (health, welfare, retirement, supplemental), ensuring accuracy across eligibility, plan rates, enrollments, payroll deductions, and employer contributions.
Own benefit payment and reconciliation workflows, including tracking due dates, credits, adjustments, and resolving discrepancies across benefits platforms, payroll systems, and vendor billing.
Partners with Payroll, HRIS, Finance, and benefit vendors to resolve data issues, retroactive changes, payroll-related corrections, and support billing accuracy and process improvements.
Support U.S. and Canadian benefits and pension audits and compliance by preparing reconciliations, reports, and maintaining accurate, auditable documentation.
Support annual open enrollment activities, including communications, data validation, session delivery, and vendor coordination.
Develop and maintain benefits communications (guides, FAQs, presentations, HR portal/intranet content) to ensure employees have access to accurate, current information.
Support benefits budgeting, forecasting, and leadership reporting through cost tracking, variance analysis, reconciliations, and ad hoc analysis.
Participate in benefits projects, system enhancements, continuous improvement initiatives, and Pension Committee meetings as required.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field, and/or equivalent relevant work experience.
3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, payroll, HR operations, or a related role.
Experience supporting U.S. and Canadian benefit programs preferred.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills for reconciliations and tracking (including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas).
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with benefit vendors and internal stakeholders (Payroll, HRIS, Finance, and HR).
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and comfort working with audits, reconciliations, and compliance requirements.
