Group Summary
The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Job Responsibilities
COMPENSATION RANGE: $90,000 to $100,000
General Responsibilities
Analysis of warranty returns, supporting the Quality Engineering team in root cause analysis
Analysis of validation TIR's and support the Validation and Product Engineering teams in root cause analysis
Generate cost save ideas (VAVE) for production products
Support the manufacturing teams regarding assembly cell equipment needing electronic support
Understanding analog, digital circuitry, power electronics and embedded software for automotive exterior lighting.
Project management of electronic changes in production
Management of cost and quality of electronic products.
Monitor and analyze any product failure. Provide recommendations to Quality Engineering.
Develop and test prototypes to ensure design intent and specifications are satisfied.
Understand PCB layouts for production designs, and be able to modify using appropriate PCB technologies.
Understand EMC requirements, and be able to root cause any issues
Conducting schematic level circuit simulation for continuous improvement of designs.
Create, support and realize benchmark activity linked to electrical designs.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent work experience
Experience as an Electronics Engineer, preferably in automotive engineering
Strong and varied interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and negotiate with Supplier and Customer representatives verbally and in writing.
Electronic design skills in hardware and software.
Able to gain support and co-operation of team members, both internal and external.
Works independently or in a team.
Able to travel and manage flexible work schedule requirements.
Understands product manufacturing and costing processes.
Computer literate including schematic capture, PCB layout, Word, Excel, Power Point and Project.
Physical Demands/ WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Normal amount of sitting and standing.
Ability to move around an office environment and on the production floor.
Ability to work at a computer workstation.
Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach and pull.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Ability to tolerate varying levels of noise and/or temperature.
May be required to travel.
Ability to lift max. 50 lbs. periodically
