Border Protection Agent

This role is a career ladder position with a progression of grade levels from GS-5 to GS-12. You will be eligible for promotion to the next higher grade level without re-applying after completing 52 weeks in each level.

• The typical assignments include enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations; facilitating trade and travel; conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances; determining admissibility for entry into the United States;

You will enforce customs, immigration, and agricultural laws and regulations. This includes facilitating legitimate trade and travel while preventing unauthorized movement across borders.

• Determine individual admissibility for entry into the United States;
  The enforcement of border control measures requires specific skills sets as listed below.
  The successful candidate must possess strong analytical thinking abilities combined with effective communication skills,
  to interact positively with diverse stakeholders including colleagues, customers (US citizens), foreign nationals visiting/immigrating
  and law enforcement agencies (Federal & Local).
