This career ladder position is available at the GL-9 to GS-12 grade levels.
The duties include detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws, inspecting documents and possessions, preventing and apprehending aliens and smugglers, interpreting tracks, marks,
and other physical evidence of illegal entry.
- Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating customs laws
- Maintaining surveillance from covert positions during night operations
The requirements for this role include being a U.S. Citizen with primary residency in the United States for at least three years.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. However experience may substitute formal education.
The Border Patrol work requires proficiency in English as well as Spanish reading ability

Some key qualifications include (Proficient firearm handling) , (Basic life support) , (Risk management strategies) these training sessions will be covered along with any equipment costs.
