The System Integration consultant is responsible for ensuring that multiple software systems and applications work together seamlessly to support the organization's business processes. This role exists to design, implement, and maintain integration solutions that enable accurate and efficient data exchange across diverse platforms. The primary goal is to create reliable, secure, and scalable interfaces that facilitate smooth communication between systems, minimizing disruptions and enhancing overall operational efficiency. By coordinating technical efforts and troubleshooting integration issues, this role ensures that the integrated environment meets business needs and complies with security and regulatory standards.

  • University degree or Diploma in either Healthcare Science, Computer science or related discipline required
  • 3 years of recent Rhapsody Integration Engine experience required
  • Reviewing vendor specifications, analyzing vendor responses ensuring that, when specifications are attached to a legal contract, they are complete and accurate.
  • Experience in hospital IT environments and familiarity with MEDITECH systems is an asset. 
  • Design and Development: Create and configure interfaces that enable seamless data exchange between diverse systems including biomed, ensuring compatibility and reliability. This includes mapping data flows and translating formats to meet system requirements – both with direct point-to-point system integration and/or via integration engine.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing of integration points to verify data accuracy, system interoperability, and performance under various scenarios, including occasional end-to-end integration tests.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Continuously monitor integration processes to detect and resolve errors or performance issues promptly, minimizing business disruption.

  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to gather requirements, align integration solutions, and support system upgrades or changes impacting interfaces.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for interfaces and integration engines and workflows, ensuring adherence to security policies and regulatory standards.
  • Understanding of SQL, ETL processes, and data transformation formats (JSON, XML, HL7, CSV, etc.)
  • Data mapping and validation techniques across different systems.
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a deadline driven and fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital-related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
