About the Role:
- The Senior Financial Advisor is responsible for consolidating capital financials and supporting financial planning activities across Budgets, Forecasts, and Actuals. This includes monthly and quarterly financial reporting, the development of in‑service capital forecasts, and providing financial insight and guidance to Asset Management and the broader business. The role plays a key part in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and effective business decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consolidate monthly financial data and analyze actuals against budget and forecast.
- Consolidate forecast inputs from Asset Management and calculate applicable overheads.
- Support the annual budget cycle by analyzing variances and preparing schedules for Finance teams.
- Assist with inputs supporting periodic forecasts, the annual budget cycle, and long‑range plans.
- Ensure financial reporting and tracking are aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Support the Supervisor, Capital FP&A, in providing financial counsel to Finance, Asset Management Governance, and Functional Business areas.
- Provide timely financial insights and analysis to stakeholders to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
- Build strong relationships with Asset Management, especially individuals responsible for compiling and assessing financial data.
- Review and validate the processes used by Asset Management to generate forecasts and financial outputs.
- Provide accurate and relevant ad hoc or off‑cycle reporting and analysis for management.
- Support key SOX controls and audit requirements.
- Assist in identifying, assessing, mitigating, and managing financial risk exposures.
- Support communication and awareness of Company policies and changes across GDS.
- Multi‑task effectively and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Assist with ongoing process improvements to streamline workflows and optimize financial operations.
- Support additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- University Business degree required.
- Finance‑related designation (CMA, CA, CPA, CGA, or MBA) preferred.
- 5+ years of post‑qualification experience in business performance analytics or similar roles.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP, Oracle, and Hyperion (preferred).
- Good business acumen and understanding of regulatory environments, financial management principles, and reporting requirements.
- Proven team player with the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including influence and persuasion abilities.
- Ability to multi‑task and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Experience in prioritizing work and implementing process improvements to drive efficiency.
- Experience working in a regulatory environment preferred.
