Job Type - Full Time
Job Overview
We are seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to join our team at Intellect Design Arena. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Azure networking infrastructure to support our Digital Experience Platform. This platform, built on a microservices-based SaaS architecture with Azure AKS, is certified for SOC2 Level 2 and ISO27001 and serves clients in digital retail and business banking across Canada.
The Network Engineer will ensure secure, reliable, and scalable connectivity, with a focus on Azure networking services, load balancers, and traffic management. You will work closely with the Platform Management Lead to maintain a high-compliance, GitOps-driven environment, supporting the seamless operation and growth of the platform.
Responsibilities
Craft Robust Azure Networks: Design and manage Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets, and Network Security Groups (NSGs) to ensure secure, scalable connectivity for our Digital Experience Platform, powering flawless retail and banking experiences.
Optimize Load Balancing: Configure and tune Azure Application Gateway and other load balancers to distribute traffic smoothly, keeping microservices responsive for Canada-wide users.
Master DNS & Traffic Flow: Manage DNS configurations and traffic routing to ensure our platform's services are always reachable, delivering seamless digital experiences for retailers and bankers.
Fortify Network Security: Implement network security policies, firewalls, and encryption to meet SOC2/ISO27001 standards, collaborating with our overseas Cloud Security team to keep data secure.
Boost Performance & Reliability: Monitor and optimize network performance using Azure Monitor and other tools, ensuring low latency and high availability for our game-changing platform.
Support Incident Response: Team up with SRE and Platform Engineering to troubleshoot network-related incidents, perform root cause analysis, and keep our platform running 24/7.
Tackle Technical Debt: Refactor outdated network configs, update security rules, and keep our infrastructure as clean as a freshly plowed rink.
Collaborate with Visionaries: Work alongside CI/CD & Automation Engineers, Platform Engineering, and overseas Cloud Architecture to build a network that supports our disruptive mission.
Document the Connectivity Magic: Create runbooks and maintain documentation to keep our team aligned and compliance audits smoother than a Zamboni's finish.
Qualifications
University degree in computer science and 5 to 7 years of relevant network analysis experience in a large scale IT environment.
Networking Expertise: Deep knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, Application Gateway), DNS management, and load balancing in cloud environments.
Security Savvy: Experience implementing network security policies and encryption to meet SOC2/ISO27001 compliance, ensuring secure digital experiences for retail and banking.
Performance Know-How: Proficiency in optimizing network performance and monitoring with tools like Azure Monitor or similar.
Scripting Skills: Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) or Terraform for automating network configurations.
Problem-Solving Superpowers: A knack for debugging network issues, from latency to connectivity failures, and turning chaos into reliable infrastructure.
Team Player Energy: Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, including overseas Cloud Security and Architecture, while reporting to our Platform Management Lead.
Bonus Points: Experience with Azure AKS, microservices, or high-compliance SaaS platforms. A GitHub repo with network automation scripts or a passion for disrupting retail and banking is a huge win.
Note: The salary range provided is indicative. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's years of experience, role alignment, internal equity, and market data. We are committed to ensuring fair, competitive, and equitable compensation practices aligned with industry standards.
