The role of a Border Protection Specialist is to safeguard the American people by securing our nation's borders. This involves detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws, as well as preventing and apprehending aliens and smugglers at or near the border.

• This position requires candidates to possess specialized experience equivalent to GL-9 grade level, with duties such as performing physical searches of detained individuals, apprehending violators, or working with law enforcement officials to identify them.

Candidates are required to have one year of experience in this field, with skills that include detecting and preventing smuggling activities. Additionally, they must be able to work effectively with colleagues and communicate complex information clearly.
