To fulfill this role, candidates may leverage prior experience in public safety, security, military police or law enforcement. A successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and be comfortable with varying environmental conditions. Additionally they should have skills such as knowledge of state or local laws regarding immigration status that are useful for enforcing regulations at border checkpoints.
