• Detecting suspicious activity at or near the border using advanced technology such as infrared scopes during night operations;


• Cross-referencing identification documents with database information to verify citizenship or violation status;


• Inspecting vehicles, cargo containers, luggage bags etc., thoroughly for hidden contraband goods.
