The City of Rolling Meadows, Illinois (pop: 23,781), seeks an Administrative Intern to serve within the Information Technology Department.
The City of Rolling Meadows is a dynamic and forward-thinking organization serving an energetic, friendly and diverse community of over 24,000 residents across 5.64 square miles. Rolling Meadows is located in the northwest suburbs of the Chicago metropolitan area in the region known as the "Golden Corridor" at Interstate 90 and Illinois Route 53. The City's downtown area along Kirchoff Road features brick-lined sidewalks, thousands of beautiful shade trees and the landmark Carillon Bell Tower and the Veteran's Memorial. Along Algonquin Road, modern office towers are home to some of the world's most renowned corporations, while Golf Road maintains a prestigious corporate-like campus atmosphere. The City is home to several large employers including Northrup Grumman and the global headquarters for Arthur J. Gallagher. In addition, there are more than 400 shops and restaurants in the area and numerous cultural attractions nearby.
Job Duties:
Produce and publish new content in a creative way Liaise with in-house team members to maintain and update current site pages Oversee layout (images, graphics, videos and artwork) Check content for accuracy Proofread and edit material Collaborate with City Staff to improve article presentation Use SEO and social media Ensure content is up-to-date Comply with copyright and privacy regulations Monitor website's traffic to measure popularity Keep track of developments in web technology
Requirements
:
College Classes in the field of Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Website and Content Management experience. Knowledge of computer systems and software. Knowledge of network and system security. Familiarity with hardware and software installation. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and customer service skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to learn quickly and adapt to changing technology. Valid Driver's license required.
Schedule:
This is a part-time in-person position of less than 999 hours per year. Standard schedule will be between 18-20 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible and can adapt to the intern's academic requirements.
Compensation:
Salary for this part-time position is authorized at $15.00 to $20.00 per hour dependent upon experience and qualifications. This position does not qualify for any other City benefits.
