We're looking for an experienced Shopify developer (or a small team) to build a fully functional Shopify store from scratch. All design work and technical planning is already done. You'll receive a detailed technical specification document and complete Figma page designs on day one. This is a pure execution project.
What's Already Prepared for You:
1) Full technical specification (~10+ pages) covering every functional requirement, naming convention, and integration detail
2) Figma designs for all page templates (desktop+mobile) - in progress
3) Product data initial scope
Scope of Work:
1) Custom Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme build matching Figma designs pixel-for-pixel
2) Full admin editability: products, images with alt text, collections, pages, navigation, blog - all manageable by a non-technical merchant
3) Discount and promotions system: percentage/fixed/BOGO discounts, promo codes (single-use, multi-use, time-limited, segment-specific), automatic discounts, bundle pricing
4) Product metafields setup per specification schema
5) On-page SEO implementation: proper H1–H3 hierarchy, editable meta titles/descriptions, JSON-LD markup (Product, Organization, BreadcrumbList, FAQPage, others applicable), canonical tags, Open Graph/Twitter cards, image optimization with srcset
6) Google Tag Manager container setup with full GA4 Enhanced E-commerce data layer (all standard events: view_item, add_to_cart, begin_checkout, purchase and others)
7) Preparation for Hotjar, Meta Pixel, Google Ads remarketing, and other future pixel integrations via GTM (no theme code changes needed to add new pixels later)
8) Strict naming conventions for CSS tracking attributes, GTM tags/triggers/variables, URL structures, and data layer variables - all documented in spec and must be followed exactly for analytics regex compatibility
9) Cookie consent integration with GTM Consent Mode v2
10) Responsive across all major browsers and devices per testing matrix in spec
11) Customer account pages (login, register, order history, address book)
12) Third-party app integrations (Shopify plugins, Klaviyo, etc)
Required Experience:
1) 3+ years Shopify theme development (Liquid, Online Store 2.0 sections/blocks architecture)
2) Proven GTM/GA4 e-commerce implementation experience - you must understand data layers, not just install apps
3) Strong SEO technical implementation track record
4) Experience working from detailed technical specifications (this is not a "figure it out" project - we need someone who follows specs precisely)
5) Clean, documented code with BEM CSS methodology
