We are a high-end residential design-build firm seeking a senior AR/VR engineer to develop a spatial computing system that overlays our finalized BIM models onto real-world construction sites.
This system must:
• Use our existing BIM models (Revit-based)
• Reflect exact geometry, materials, and finish selections
• Align precisely inside an existing structure or active construction site
• Run primarily on Meta Quest (passthrough AR)
• Be architected for future cross-platform compatibility (Apple Vision Pro, iPad LiDAR)
This is not a conceptual rendering tool.
It must represent exactly how the property will look when completed.
What We Already Have
• Fully developed BIM models
• Detailed specifications for all finishes and selections
• Accurate dimensions
• Construction documentation
• Real-world job sites for testing
We are not asking you to generate models.
We need spatial alignment and immersive deployment.
Core Objective
Allow clients and team members to:
• Walk through an active construction site
• See the finished project overlaid in real-world scale
• View final cabinetry, fixtures, materials, layouts
• Evaluate alignment before build completion
• Conduct client walkthroughs prior to installation
This must feel stable, accurate, and professional — not like a floating AR demo.
Technical Requirements
Must Have:
• Meta Quest Passthrough AR experience
• Unity or Unreal (recommendation required)
• Experience importing and optimizing BIM / Revit models
• Understanding of point cloud / mesh processing
• Experience with spatial anchors / world locking
• Performance optimization for complex models
Strong Bonus:
• Apple Vision Pro development
• LiDAR integration
• Photogrammetry workflows
• Experience with BIM metadata handling
• Multi-user shared AR sessions
Technical Challenges to Solve
Converting BIM models into AR-optimized geometry
Maintaining real-world scale accuracy
Anchoring large architectural models to physical space
Managing material realism while maintaining performance
Preventing spatial drift across multiple rooms
We are specifically looking for someone who understands:
• Model decimation
• LOD systems
• Texture baking
• Mesh simplification
• Real-time rendering constraints in XR
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months. with 30 hours per week.
Mandatory skills: Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, 3D Modeling, VR Application, Unreal Engine, Android
