At KBL, we do things differently. As Western Canada's largest environmental waste management company—born in the North and built on resilience—we've grown by trusting our people, keeping them safe, and backing bold ideas. We're proud to be recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies

We're looking for a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Field Advisor to support our growing team. This is a field-focused role with regular fly-in/fly-out travel to remote and northern project sites. You'll partner closely with operations to strengthen safety performance through hands-on coaching, auditing, and on-site support across KBL's diverse locations.

What You'll Do

  • Travel to remote and northern sites on a fly-in/fly-out basis to provide direct HSE support
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and internal standards
  • Deliver field-based safety training, coaching, and front-line program development
  • Support projects by embedding HSE requirements into planning and execution
  • Foster strong relationships within the communities, as well as among the team, management, and clients
  • Monitor safety performance, support audits and reporting, and maintain a strong on-site presence

Who You Are

  • Must hold a valid NCSO designation
  • 3–5 years of experience in HSE within industrial, environmental, or remote operations
  • Comfortable working in remote environments with extended travel rotations
  • Strong understanding of safety management systems and regulatory frameworks
  • Confident communicator who can build trust with field teams and leadership

What You Need

  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly on a fly-in/fly-out basis (multi-day site rotations)
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to work across northern and remote locations
  • Experience with safety systems (e.g., SiteDocs, WorkHub) and MS Office tools
  • Training in TapRoot and experience with large scale mining projects are considered a strong asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in physically demanding environments
  • Incident investigation training and COR audit experience considered strong assets
  • Preference for candidates based in Edmonton or Calgary or willing to travel frequently

We're committed to providing a safe, supportive work environment. Reasonable accommodations are available to those who qualify.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Trust & Empowerment: Empowered culture with minimal bureaucracy- just real responsibility, ownership, and the flexibility to do your best work
  • Growth & Agility: We're entrepreneurial by nature—quick to adapt and deeply invested in your development
  • Care & Commitment: From top-tier benefits (including $3,000 annually for psychological support) to a focus on safety and wellness, we put our people first
  • Meaningful Impact: Your work helps build safer, cleaner communities across Canada and that's something to be proud of

Why You'll Love Our Perks

  • Competitive wage, allowances and above-market benefits
  • RRSP matching, Health Care Spending Account, Wellness account, and flexible work options where feasible
  • Paid training and development opportunities, Manager training program, formal Employee Recognition program

We're Proud of Where We Come From—and Where We're Going
