Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare/Generate and enter purchase orders, manage the buying process with specified negotiated cost, quality and delivery targets with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements. 
  • Provide technical / commercial assistance to Commodity Buyers. 
  • Control and manage the inventory level and help all the inventory team at the annual inventory time. 
  • Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. 
  • Develop and maintain a strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts as well assist and help the receiving teams to help and eliminate any potential errors. 
  • Manage problems and schedule changes, ensure changes are reflected within the JDE systems. 
  • Balance both tactical executions with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects. 
  • Actively participate in supplier performance reviews. 
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers. 
  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible. 
  • Deliver briefs, updates and reports when required. 
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value.
  • Generate reports as needed, including job cost breakdown, weekly sales performance and parts flow through the system. 
  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials. 
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues. 
  • Assist to coach the purchasing/receiving team to enhance their career and professional development. 
  • Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with suppliers regarding new projects, supplies and initiatives, advise of impact of change on purchasing and production activities. 
  • Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact. 
  • Attend meetings and update others on issues or concerns. Support product change requests and review and communicate the impact on capacity plans. 
  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications. 
  • Additional administrative duties when required and asked by senior managements.

Requirements: 

  • Project management experience but not mandatory. 
  • Knowledge of JDE Edwards. 
  • Ability to use Cad Software, Solid works and AutoCAD. 
  • Create simple mechanical/electrical drawings when required. 
  • Ability to read Mechanical drawings and related content of drawings. 
  • College/University, manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred. 
  • Proven purchasing experience, preferably within handling technologies or manufacturing environment. 
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements. 
  • Strong technical knowledge, understanding of manufacturing processes, components and supply chain management.
  • Computer literate, to include advanced Excel skills. 
  • Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. 
  • Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams. 
  • People management. 
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
