À propos

We believe talent deserves a human touch. Your application will be read by an actual person who's excited to discover the real you.

At ActiveCo, a New Charter Company, we're hiring a React Native Mobile Developer (also known as a React Native Developer, Mobile Application Developer, or Cross-Platform Mobile Engineer) to help build and scale a production-grade mobile application used daily by a distributed, field-based workforce operating in real-world conditions with variable connectivity and real-time demands.

In this role, you'll design and enhance cross-platform React Native features across iOS and Android, including navigation architecture, component structure, state management, and code organization. You'll implement offline-first functionality (local storage and sync logic), develop background location tracking and geofencing features, collaborate with a Laravel API team to integrate optimized REST endpoints, and support build, testing, and release processes for the App Store and Google Play.

We're seeking a developer with 2–5 years of professional experience and at least one shipped mobile application (React Native preferred). You should have strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, experience integrating REST APIs, familiarity with mobile state management and local storage, and the ability to troubleshoot platform-specific issues. Experience with background execution constraints, mobile permissions, CI/CD workflows, and basic native debugging (Swift, Kotlin, or Java) is highly valuable. Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and clear technical communication are essential.

General Job Duties Include:
  • Building and enhancing React Native features for iOS and Android platforms
  • Designing navigation structures, component architecture, and state management implementations
  • Implementing offline-first functionality with reliable sync and reconciliation logic
  • Developing and refining background location tracking and geofencing features
  • Integrating secure authentication flows and responsible data handling practices
  • Collaborating with backend developers to consume and optimize RESTful APIs
  • Supporting mobile build processes, testing workflows, and production releases
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and production-ready code
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
  • 2–5 years of professional software development experience
  • Experience building and shipping at least one mobile application
  • Strong React Native development experience
  • Solid JavaScript or TypeScript skills
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with mobile state management and local storage strategies
  • Experience with background geolocation and offline-first patterns
  • CI/CD familiarity for mobile applications
  • Basic native debugging experience in Swift, Kotlin, or Java
Compensation:

Compensation is expected start between CAD $31–$39 per hour, based on experience and capability (Equivalent to approximately $65,000–$80,000 annualized). Our offer will be determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.

Employment Term:

This is a full-time, fixed-term employee position for an initial 6-month term and is not an independent contractor role. The role is aligned to a confirmed project scope for the initial delivery period. Employment will end at the conclusion of the term unless extended in writing. There is no guarantee of extension or permanent employment; however, extension or transition to a permanent full-time role may be considered based on performance and business needs.

Location Requirement:

Candidates must reside in Canada. Applicants in the Greater Vancouver area are strongly encouraged to apply to support collaboration and occasional in-person sessions.

Information for Applicants:

Upon receipt of your application, you will be sent a link to complete a PI Survey, this needs to be completed to be considered for the position.
