• Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws by inspecting documents, possessions, citizenship status, conducting surveillance at night using infrared scopes, tracking physical evidence, illegal entry persons or contraband farm checks building traffic city patrols transportation checks patrolling international boundary coastal waterways vehicles horses vessels ATVs snowmobiles motorcycles accomplish USBP mission qualifying GL-5 grade level if having one-year experience managing stressful situations learning regulations methods techniques classroom training instruction gathering concise information documents records OR bachelor degree four full course study field leading bachelor degree accredited college university combination general work experience college education resume transcripts submitted application qualifying GL-7 grade level specialized work showing skills needed make sound judgments decisions use firearms deal effectively courteous manner connection law enforcement matters analyze rapidly prompt decisions arrests require training apply these skills criminal code enforcement violations correctional rehabilitation work involving offenders etc Education Substitution Superior Academic Achievement class standing GPA honor society membership receive bachelor degree superior academic achievement meet criteria other requirements provide formal US residency three five years served current military law enforcement position Title 5 USC 8336(c) or Title 5 USC 8412(d).
