Scope of Work
Develop a Flutter-based mobile application supporting:
Android (minimum version 8)
iOS
Implement accurate daily step tracking and logging
Integrate with:
Health Connect (Android)
Apple Health (iOS)
Support wearable devices (e.g., Pixel Watch, Apple Watch)
Handle all app lifecycle states:
Foreground
Background
Terminated
Implement step recovery logic:
Users can retrieve the previous day's steps if the app is opened the next day
No recovery allowed beyond a 2-day window
Ensure step accuracy within an acceptable deviation compared to native health apps
Display real-time step updates while the app is active
Use foreground services where required (especially for Android 12 and below)
Implement smart synchronization to prevent duplicate step counting from multiple health sources
Maintain step history starting from the app installation date (no pre-install data)
Handle permissions gracefully with clear user messaging for approvals and denials
Test and ensure compatibility across major Android devices:
Samsung (below & above Android 12)
Pixel
Xiaomi
OnePlus
Ideal Candidate Profile
Strong experience in Flutter development, with solid Android knowledge
Proven experience integrating health APIs (Health Connect / Apple Health)
Understanding of background services and sensor data handling
Experience with performance optimization and device-level testing
Ability to ensure accuracy and consistency across devices
Requirements
Portfolio of relevant Flutter projects (especially health, fitness, or sensor-based apps)
Demonstrated experience with similar implementations is highly preferred
