This is a real product with real users, not a concept exercise. The app handles device pairing, real-time data monitoring, dashboards, and user account management. The redesign needs to simplify the experience while adding new features.
What you'll do:
- Lead the UI/UX design for a React Native app (iOS + Android)
- Create user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups in Figma
- Design for complex interactions — BLE device pairing, real-time data display, offline states, notifications
- Work closely with our development team to ensure designs are technically feasible
- Produce developer-ready design specs — components, spacing, states, responsive behaviour
- Iterate based on user feedback and stakeholder input
- Contribute to or build a design system / component library in Figma
What we're looking for:
- 4+ years mobile app design experience (native iOS/Android or React Native)
- Strong Figma skills — auto layout, components, variants, prototyping
- Experience designing for complex data products (dashboards, monitoring, IoT is a big plus)
- Understanding of mobile platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design) and when to break them
- Experience designing for hardware interaction flows (pairing, connection states, error handling)
- Portfolio showing shipped mobile products, not just dribbble concepts
- Clear communication — you can explain your design decisions and take feedback well
Nice to have:
- Experience with IoT or connected device products
- Experience designing B2B or technical products (not just consumer apps)
- Familiarity with design-to-dev handoff workflows
- Motion design / micro-interaction design
- User research experience (interviews, usability testing)

- Freelance, time & materials — log hours, invoice bi-weekly
- Async-first with some sync sessions for design reviews
- Workload is project-driven — heavier during active design phases
- Starts with a paid design exercise (4-6 hours) based on a real brief from the product
Contract duration of more than 6 months. with 40 hours per week.
