Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior IT Project Manager – AML & Regulatory Programs. This position involves leading large-scale, complex projects within a dynamic financial environment, ensuring successful delivery across multiple stakeholders and ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
Responsibilities
Direct large-scale, complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Define, plan, orchestrate, and deliver strategic projects, including business, operational, and IT components.
Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, coordinating with business, corporate, and IT partners to ensure completion of project processes such as change management, systems development, and quality assurance.
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, through regular communication and project briefings.
Ensure project scope is clearly articulated and results deliver quantifiable business benefits.
Align project objectives with business vision and strategic priorities.
Chair key governance forums, including steering and decision committees, to review project progress.
Represent project interests in governance and inter-departmental forums.
Manage scope rigorously to meet time, cost, and quality commitments.
Develop and track project milestones, maintaining an integrated delivery plan.
Prepare project artifacts such as charters, plans, resource, and contingency plans, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards.
Monitor and control project progress, making recommendations for adjustments.
Report status to the accountable executive periodically.
Manage vendor and supplier relationships.
Lead requirements gathering, testing, and programming activities.
Contribute to improving project management practices across the organization for consistency and excellence.
Desired Skill-Set
8+ years of experience in a similar project management role within a major financial institution.
Prior AML experience is a plus.
Strong understanding of waterfall project lifecycle phases.
Experience with project financial control and forecast accuracy.
Ability to work comfortably within program or portfolio management frameworks.
Proficiency with MS Projects.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and escalate appropriately.
Excellent communication skills, with clarity in verbal and written interactions.
Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
Nice to Have
Experience within banking or similar organizations.
Experience with big data or customer information projects.
