Job Description
The Learning Content Designer is an analytical, detail‑oriented professional responsible for creating effective learning materials that support the business unit's end‑to‑end knowledge and training infrastructure. The role focuses on developing multimedia content, standardizing documentation, and maintaining knowledge systems such as eFront to ensure accuracy, usability, and accessibility.
This opportunity is a 12‑month contract based out of our North Bay, ON office.
Responsibilities
Instructional Design & Content Development:
Design and develop high‑quality digital learning content, including eLearning modules, videos, simulations, and facilitator-led resources.
Translate complex processes into clear, engaging content.
Modernize and standardize existing training materials.
Create, update, and govern SOPs, workflows, and job aids.
Apply adult learning principles, evidence‑based instructional strategies, and accessibility standards (WCAG, AODA) to all content.
Develop storyboards, scripts, wireframes, and prototypes to support content production.
Build assessments that measure knowledge, skill development, and application.
LMS & Technology
Upload, configure, and test learning content in the LMS (SCORM/xAPI compliance, metadata, version control).
Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure seamless learner experience across devices.
Support onboarding with accurate, accessible resources.
Recommend tools, platforms, and technologies that enhance content delivery and learning engagement.
Collaboration:
Partner with SMEs, trainers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and validate learning content.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
Facilitate reviews, gather feedback, and iterate on designs.
Salary Range: $36.50–$41.00/hr (base pay).
Qualifications
Based on knowledge, skills, and experience.
Diploma or degree in Instructional/Graphic Design, Education, Learning Technologies, or related field.
2+ years of experience designing digital learning content or instructional materials.
