Purpose of Job:
- The Robotic Weld Cell Operator Level 1 is a basic level position responsible for fitting and joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weld-able material as directed by the Department Supervisor.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Weld components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
- Operate hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, and other hand tools related to the jobs needs.
- Load and unload parts in a safe and productive manner.
- Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
- Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
- Inspect equipment to maintain functional equipment if any equipment needs repairs notify supervisor or maintenance department.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
- Wear all required PPE while in plant.
- Work safely & ergonomically by following Health & Safety policies.
- Report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents across the plant.
Knowledge, Skills and Education:
- Completion of secondary school or equivalent.
- CWB certified an asset.
- Enrolment in relevant trade school program or Fitting Trade is preferred.
- Familiarity with both Motoman and Fanuc welding robots.
- Familiarity with the use of Jigs & fixtures.
- Ability to read or interpret engineering drawings
- Basic knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments (measuring tape, calliper, Vernier)
- Good level of manual dexterity, and hand-eye co-ordination.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take directions.
- Proficient at Reading text, Document use, Numeracy.
- Ability to stay organized
- Ability to work as a team.
- Ability to seek clarification and seek help when problems arise.
- Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written.
- Ability to work in a safe and orderly manner.
