These are evergreen opportunities designed to build a strong talent pipeline for future concrete slipform paving and finishing projects across our operations. Qualified candidates will be contacted as work becomes available.

Volker Stevin's concrete crews deliver high-quality concrete paving for highways, roadways, and infrastructure projects. Based on experience and qualifications, candidates may be considered for one or more of the following roles:

Concrete Finisher

Responsible for placing, finishing, and curing concrete pavement surfaces to meet line, grade, thickness, and finish specifications.

Concrete Foreman

Provides on-site leadership for concrete paving operations, coordinating crew activities, production sequencing, quality control, and safety compliance.

Concrete Labourer

Supports concrete operations through site preparation, form setting, material handling, cleanup, and general labour tasks critical to successful paving operations.

Gomaco Operator 

Operates Gomaco, a slipform paving equipment to place concrete pavement efficiently and accurately, ensuring alignment, grade, thickness, and smoothness meet project specifications.

How You'll Add Value 

  • Safely perform concrete slipform paving and finishing operations in accordance with project specifications
  • Operate concrete paving equipment, tools, and support machinery while following all safety protocols
  • Read and interpret line, grade, and slope requirements for slipform paving
  • Monitor concrete consistency, paving speed, and surface finish quality
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
  • Coordinate with batch plants, truck drivers, and crew members to maintain consistent concrete supply
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
  • Support and mentor newer crew members where applicable
  • Actively contribute to Volker Stevin's safety-first culture

What You Bring 

  • 3+ years experience in concrete paving & placing or heavy civil construction (role dependant)
  • Valid Class 5 Operator's License; with Driver's Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits
