These are evergreen opportunities intended to build a strong talent pipeline for future infrastructure and road construction projects across our operations. Qualified candidates will be considered as work becomes available.

Volker Stevin Foremen provide front-line leadership across a variety of civil construction disciplines. Based on experience and expertise, candidates may be considered for one or more of the following roles:


• Underground Foreman – Utilities, storm, sanitary, water, and associated civil works
• Earthworks Foreman – Mass excavation, grading, and embankment operations
• Base Foreman – Granular placement, proof rolling, and base preparation
• Concrete Foreman – Concrete paving, finishing, and related operations

Foremen are responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing daily field activities while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.

How You'll Add Value 

  • Lead and supervise crews to safely execute daily work plans
  • Promote and enforce Volker Stevin's safety-first culture on site
  • Plan work activities, sequencing, manpower, and equipment requirements
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, grades, and schedules
  • Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and inspectors
  • Ensure work is completed to quality standards and project specifications
  • Monitor production rates and proactively address issues impacting schedule or cost
  • Complete required field documentation, reports, and inspections
  • Mentor, coach, and develop crew members to support long-term success

What You Bring 

  • 5+ years experience as a Foreman in civil construction (discipline-dependent)
  • Strong technical knowledge in underground, earthworks, base, or concrete operations
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a hands-on, team-oriented approach
  • Solid understanding of OH&S regulations and safe work practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Willingness to participate in pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Testing
  • Valid Class 5 Operator's License; with Driver's Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits
