We are looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our bustling logistics facility in Jacksonville, Florida. The Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in the initial stages of our supply chain, ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately documented, inspected, and processed. Your attention to detail will be paramount in maintaining inventory accuracy and preventing losses. This position offers a great entry point into the fast-paced world of warehouse management.
Responsibilities:
- Accept and unload incoming shipments from vendors and carriers.
- Inspect goods for damages, shortages, or discrepancies and report any issues immediately.
- Verify received items against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label inventory items appropriately.
- Stage received goods for put-away or distribution.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and guidelines, including the correct use of required PPE.
- Assist with inventory audits and stock takes as needed.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, warehouse staff, and management regarding incoming shipments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or data entry role preferred.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and basic data entry skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics flow.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the importance of wearing PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
