We are hiring a Receiving Clerk to join our busy logistics center in Durham, North Carolina. The Receiving Clerk is a vital part of our supply chain, responsible for efficiently and accurately processing all incoming shipments. You will be the first point of contact for inbound goods, ensuring they are properly documented, inspected, and stored. This role is key to maintaining accurate inventory and supporting smooth warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, documenting any issues thoroughly.
- Enter received goods into the inventory management system accurately and promptly.
- Tag and label received items as required.
- Stage received goods for put-away or distribution to other departments.
- Maintain organized and clean receiving and dock areas.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Operate pallet jacks and other receiving equipment safely.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal logistics teams regarding incoming shipments.
- Follow all established logistics workflows for receiving and processing.
- Practice safe lifting techniques and handle materials appropriately.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and provide support to other warehouse functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving, inventory control, or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and scanners.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and inspection.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
