We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator for our Nashville, Tennessee facility. This role is pivotal to our warehouse operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods and materials. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to transport, stack, load, and unload inventory. A strong focus on Safety, precision, and adherence to operational procedures is paramount. This position is ideal for a skilled operator looking to contribute to a high-volume logistics environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move palletized goods throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution.
- Transport items to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Stack and store materials in designated locations, adhering to rack capacity and Safety guidelines.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and location verification.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, free from obstructions and hazards.
- Follow all established Safety protocols and company policies regarding forklift operation.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed, contributing to the overall logistics flow.
- Properly document movement of goods and any inventory adjustments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current and valid forklift operator certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting of up to 70 lbs.
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse Safety regulations and best practices for forklift operation.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control is a plus.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and motor skills.
- Must wear required PPE, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and high-visibility vests.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dedicated logistics team.
