Border Patrol Agent
  • Patrols international borders on foot, horseback or ATV.
The deterrence, detection and apprehension of individuals attempting to enter the United States without proper authorization is a key component of this role. The U.S. Border Patrol protects America's borders from a wide range of threats including terrorists; human smugglers; narcotics traffickers; and illegal aliens by employing advanced technologies such as cameras, motion sensors and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as well as traditional law enforcement methods like surveillance and pursuit.

We accomplish our mission through a multi-layered strategy that combines deterrent measures with robust intelligence gathering capabilities allowing us to stay ahead of emerging trends in border security while continually assessing new technologies for integration into our operations.

In addition to enforcing laws related to immigration, we also work closely with other government agencies as well as local community groups engaged in efforts focused on preventing exploitation by addressing root causes rather than just symptoms themselves.
